This Russian really loved his alcohol! He loved it so much, he started creating his own in the 1800s. Come the 1900s, he was already making quite a huge number of bottles each day. But the Russian Revolution came along and the distillery was confiscated. After Smirnoff was issued a death sentence, he somehow escaped. He made his way to Turkey, and continued to build his liquor empire.
